Två små svin

Två små svin, or Two small pigs – This taverna, in the Årsta district, specialises in open sandwishes, Czech beer and the Scandinavian spirit, Aquavit. Its interior is heavily influenced by Danish and Czech – think patterned tiles, leather sofas and high stools, all accompanied by marble and glass lamps, as well as well-stocked bar.
The tavern was opened in 2014 by Jimmy Nygren and Kalle Olofsson, who both found inspiration in the traditional Danish open sandwisch, smorrebrod, On these you will find everything from pickled herring to pork, from raw beef to fresh beets.

EXOPARK – Absolut Art Bar

EXOPARK – The ABSOLUT ART BAR displays amongst others works of the Swedish artist Thomas Hämén and as well as a unique sculpture towering high above the tree tops and set in the middle of the concrete jungle. We would call it a “natural artificial” oasis in the centre of Stockholm. Open all summer, it allows you to relax, have a drink or enjoy some food while enjoying the music or art experience. Thomas Hämén’s work is at the heart of the art at the bar; but it also displays sculptures by Tony Cragg, Astrid Sylwan Michael Richter and Roland Persson to name a few. Visit the Art Bar on

Address: Diligentas Hus, Sveavägen 44
Subway station: Hötorget

Swedish National Day Celebrations at Skansen

Svenska Flaggan

The tradition of celebrating Sweden’s National Day – or Swedish Flag Day as it was originally known – began at Skansen. Skansen’s founder Artur Hazelius wanted to establish a festival to unite the nation, and he chose 6 June. It was on this day in 1523 that Gustav Vasa was proclaimed king. Sweden’s National Day has been celebrated at Skansen since 1893.

Celebrate the Swedish National Day at Skansen. There will be entertainment, national day concert, flag workshop, folkdancing and a variety of other activities for both adults and children.

The day ends with the traditional National Day celebrations at the Solliden stage with a solemnly celebration program and star-studded entertainment in the presence of the royal King and Queen. The festive program begins at 6:30 PM and ends around 7:30 PM. The evening will also be broadcasted on Swedish national television SVT1
