There are boats going every hour from Stockholm’s city, both Nybrokajen and Slussen, and it takes no more than 20 minutes. If you are hungry, there are several restaurants to choose from. In addition, there are craft shops and exhibitions to watch, and a theater open in the summer.

For who? Fjäderholmarna fit those who do not want to travel particularly far from town.

Vårsalongen at Liljevalchs

The art museum Liljevalchs opens every year with a large exhibition called Vårsalongen, “The Spring Salon”. Artists from all genres send in contributions of their latest and most interesting works and a juror selects which pieces will be part of the exhibition. The result is a playful, ecclectic mix of styles and artistic quality. All works are for sale.

During the summer Helmut Newton’s photographic world take part in an exhibition at Fotografiska. In a retrospective shown everything from his naked women to portraits, radiographs and night images.
While you’re here – do not forget the Japanese artist Motohiko Odani and his bizarre works

How to get there:
Fotografiska are located by the seafront on Stadsgårdshamnen, between Birka Cruises and Viking Line boat terminals. You can easily reach the museum by walking along the water from Slussen or Gamla Stan.

Public transport: The nearest subway station is Slussen, Choose to exit at the bus terminal, take a right, walk past the busterminal to a pedestrain crossing. Cross the street, take a right and continue walking straight on (past the Birka Cruises terminal) till you reach Fotografiska.
Several busses stops by Slussen – line 2, 3, 43, 53, 55, 59, 71 and 76. From Slussen, walk in an easterly direction, along the water, past the Birka Cruises terminal.
