FJÄRDLÅNG

fjärdlång

The island for pirates and kings. Fjärdlång har probably been inhabitet since the 15th century. Pirate Blom lived here, so did the Wallenberg family and later the art collector and banker Ernest Thiel. Once upon a time the island belonged to Gustav Vasa, but today it is in state owned and has been a nature reserve since 1985. The island, which is well-know beauty spot with some of the archipelago’s most attractive natural harbours and famous for its bathing rocks is a perfect holiday location for the whole family. If you want to stay the night, all you have to do is book a room in Ernest Thiel’s grand summer villa which today is a youth hostel.
