Rocks, beaches and it’s very own fort. Siaröfortet, build after the first world war to stop Russian advance, was strategically located in the centre of the fairway between Vaxholm and Furusund. Today, Siaröfortet is open to visitors and has been restored to its former glory with canons and shooting shields above ground and a manouevre centre, kitchen and barracks inside the rock. There is guided tour every day lasting about an hour. For those of you who prefer to visit the fort independently, entrace tickets are available for purchase in the hostel cafe. But you don’t need to be that interested in the military history to appreciate this lovely island

How to get there? Ferry with WAXHOLMSBOLAGET
